China-Canada educator known as “China’s Nostradamus” — Jiang Xueqin — has once again been in the news for having predicted both Donald Trump returning to the White House in 2024 and the subsequent, serious U.S.-Iran conflict. Now he is calling out even more ominous predictions regarding America’s future.
Jiang is now warning that Donald Trump may try to remain in office past his constitutional two terms, creating extreme civil unrest between the federal government and the heavily democratic cities of New York, Chicago, etc. Of course, the 22nd Amendment prohibits Donald Trump from being elected to a third presidential term.
Jiang is also forecasting the Iranian conflict expanding to include a long-term ground war which could generate cause a national draft in the U.S. Moreover, Jiang says there will be an increased usage of both ICE and the National Guard in response to growing economic and political unrest.
Jiang’s most dire prediction is an economic collapse resulting from war, energy disruptions and potential global shipping issues; Those issues could ultimately cause increases in fuel, food costs, loss of jobs, financial instability and attacks on American financial infrastructure.
Jiang does not predict that America will be destroyed by a single, sudden catastrophe. He predicts that these series of events are connected in a chain reaction. A foreign war creates an economic problem. The economic problems increase political frustration. The added political frustrations create public disturbances. The disturbances create a more powerful government response. This response leads to even greater resistance, which could ultimately become unmanageable.
While these predictions are based on speculation, they are still very real possibilities. Critics believe that while Jiang uses historical trends and game theory to base his predictions, he does make several questionable assumptions.
In summary, we need to be aware of potential dangers so that our governments and people can be better equipt to recognize warning signs and take action to avoid the worst-case scenarios.
4 Similar Prediction Warnings From Americans
Egan-Jones, a credit rating agency, has released what it calls an “unusually negative” forecast about the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) that includes stating that “the complete disruption of the economy is almost inevitable.” Their fear is that AI will have the potential to rapidly displace or significantly reduce lucrative, screen based professional jobs; compress both wage and margin; negatively affect venture capital and have a downward effect on housing prices in communities where a significant portion of their economic base are comprised of higher income white collar professionals.
Peter Schiff warns that the next major U.S. crisis could be worse than 2008 because it may center on federal debt and the dollar rather than private-bank debt. In September, he warned of a possible sovereign-debt and currency crisis, rising bond yields and serious housing-market stress.
Political scientist Barbara Walter, a civil war expert, has issued a far worse warning. As of April 2026, she claimed there were rising levels of political violence within the United States; and those levels continue to rise. The type of conflict she fears most is not necessarily an 1860s style Civil War where both sides had established armies. Rather, her concerns for future conflict are centered on modern internal conflicts taking place through assassinations, bombings, armed factions or groups, isolated attacks and increased retaliatory measures by each side.
Investor Ray Dalio has described the United States as approaching what his historical model calls “stage 5,” immediately before civil war. Dalio uses “civil war” broadly: he has emphasized that it does not necessarily mean conventional armed warfare, but could mean political opponents abandoning established constitutional rules and attempting to impose their will outside the normal system.
